New Delhi: By 2029, 52 satellites will be launched; India to bring Pakistan and China under surveillance network. After Operation Sindoor, India moves to further strengthen its defense sector. Reports say India has taken steps to fast-track the launch of 52 satellites for defense needs. These satellites will help India conduct deeper and continuous surveillance in enemy territory. According to the Times of India report, all satellites are expected to be launched by the end of 2029.
This will enable India to bring large parts of Chinese and Pakistani territory, as well as the Indian Ocean region, under its surveillance coverage. These satellites will enable uninterrupted monitoring and the capture of high-resolution images with greater precision.
Apart from these satellites, the Indian Air Force is making efforts to procure three High Altitude Platform System (HAPS) aircraft. These unmanned aircraft will be capable of conducting long-duration surveillance from the stratosphere.
Simultaneously, China’s growing focus and investment in space warfare capabilities aimed at disabling satellite systems is becoming a strategic threat to India. China is developing missiles and laser weapons capable of destroying satellites. The close diplomatic relations and growing defense collaboration between Pakistan and China add to the strategic challenges India faces in this field.
